Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak received the UN Special Envoy Hans Grundberg who acquainted him about the outcomes of the tours he had conducted within the efforts to resume the political process in Yemen.
They went over the tracks UN envoy follows to deal with the current situation, especially with the continued Houthi military escalation and economic war waged against the Yemeni people, the attacks on commercial ships and international shipping, and the terrorist Houthi militia's rejection of all resolutions and initiatives in an outright defiance to UN, regional and international efforts and the people's will.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government and the Presidential Leadership Council's commitment to back the UN envoy's efforts to broker a political solution, as per the three locally and internationally agreed upon terms of reference for resolution.
The premier contended that the Houthi economic war against the nation, such as by attacking oil export facilities or weaponizing banking , draining the private sector's resources, and collecting nefarious taxes on the public, cannot be accepted or tolerated.
