Water Minister, Hodeida Governor inspect governorate's water networks

Minister of Water and Environment Tawfeeq al-Sharjabi, along with Governor of Hodeida Dr. al-Hasan Taher inspected Saturday situations of the water network and sanitation in the liberated areas in the governorate.

Minister al-Sharjabi confirmed importance of addressing impacts of the war through quick interventions needed for solving water crisis and repercussions of continued internal displacement, stressing necessity of preparing a plan for transferring into water development in the province and defining priorities of imminent interventions in water field and sanitation to fill the increasing gap of citizens' needs.

Minister al-Sharjabi also emphasized the government's interest in Hodeida and its efforts to address fragility and imbalances in the services sector, particularly the water and sanitation sector.

He pointed out the ministry's efforts to seek funding for the implementation of integrated water projects in Khokha and Hays Districts, as well as projects to improve and develop water sources to meet the needs of all liberated areas in the governorate.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Water and Environment, accompanied by the Hodeida Governor, inspected the Hays Water Project, which was implemented with funding from the Humanitarian Cell of the National Resistance and the Tawasul Foundation with Kuwaiti funding.
