Taiz Governor discusses with Director of OCHA's office expanding interventions

Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan discussed Wednesday with Director of the Office of Coordinating Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen Markos Feren expanding humanitarian and developmental interventions in the governorate.

Governor Shamsan praised OCHA's humanitarian interventions and aspects of cooperation and coordination between the office and the local authority, as well as enhancing partnership and increasing humanitarian interventions in Taiz Coast Districts.

He pointed out to importance of opening an office for the United Nations inside Taiz city, praising the role of the Resident Representative for Humanitarian Affairs and his team in accomplishing the social and development economic plan in the governorate.

For his part, the Director of OCHA confirmed taking care of Taiz Governorate and advocate work to provide necessary funding to meet humanitarian interventions, especially in Coast Districts. He reviewed the basic role to be played by the office in the city and the organizations' work from it.

Meanwhile, Director of the Office of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in Taiz Nabil Jamel reviewed the achieved progress in the social and economic development Plan and the needed role from OCHA in finalizing this plan.

The plan covers needs of all Taiz districts, especially coast districts and enhancing coordination to the work of organizations through one window system.
