Minister of Transport Abdulsalam Humaid discussed Tuesday with the head of the Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) mission in Yemen Tila Mohammed and the accompanying team humanitarian and relief cooperation.
Minister Humaid praised the humanitarian aid provided by the organization for years in the field of medical care and the provision of medicines and the efforts of its staff.
He pointed out that the war launched by the Houthi militias on the country has greatly impacted the activities of government institutions, economic facilities, infrastructure, and the state's components.
The Minister of Transport reviewed the contributions of international and regional humanitarian organizations in standing with and assisting Yemen in overcoming its ordeal. He affirmed the readiness of the ministry and the government to provide all forms of joint cooperation, facilitate all procedures, and overcome the difficulties facing its humanitarian work and activities, especially at airports, seaports, and land crossings.
Minister Humaid also discussed the stability and improvement in services in the temporary capital Aden, and the liberated provinces, especially at airports, seaports, and ground outlets, which are operating normally and receiving various forms of assistance, including medical aid.
He highlighted the readiness of Al-Makha Airport to receive flights, as well as Marib Airport, which receives humanitarian flights.
For her part, the head of the Médecins Sans Frontières mission expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the cooperation and facilitation provided by the Ministry of Transport to the organization.
She highlighted the organization's interventions and its efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
