Al-Muharrami confirms support to water ministry's plans

The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Abdulrahman al-Muharrami chaired Monday a meeting for leaders of Water Ministry and Water Corporation in Aden, discussing the situation of water and environment sectors and the ministry's plans to solve water and sanitation problems.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Water and Environment, Tawfiq al-Sharjabi, the Deputy Minister for the Water Sector, Najib Mohammed Nuaman and the Director-General of the Water Corporation in Aden, Engineer Mohammed Bakhubairah.

It addressed the main obstacles facing the work of the ministry and the water corporation in the temporary capital of Aden, as well as the proposed solutions to overcome these obstacles.

During the meeting, al-Muharrami emphasized the importance of this sector in the lives of citizens and the need to work on improving and providing its services regularly.

He affirmed the support of the Presidential Council for the Ministry of Water and Environment in all its sectors and institutions, enabling them to carry out their tasks of providing drinking water to citizens and overcoming any difficulties.

He also highlighted the importance of developing mechanisms for dealing with grants and external support related to the water and sewage sector and utilizing them properly.

He stressed the need for integrated efforts by all relevant parties to address any difficulties related to operating water wells and pumping stations, as this would contribute to the stability of water supplies for the population in all provinces.

For his part, Minister al-Sharjabi explained that the ministry is working on implementing a number of projects aimed at improving water services and developing the infrastructure for sanitation.

The leaderships of the ministry and the water corporation in Aden expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Member of the Presidential Council for his continuous support to the water sector and his ongoing efforts to address the institution's problems and work towards resolving them to enable it to fulfill its duties as required.
