ADEN - SABA
His Excellency (HE) President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Thursday, the Regional Director of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue (CHD) Roman Victor Grandgan and his accompanying delegation who are visiting the temporary capital Aden.

The delegation briefed the President on the CHD's actions and interventions around the world to help containing the danger of the armed conflicts and the subsequent devastating repercussions at national, regional and international levels.

HE detailed the CHD's delegation about the developments of the Yemeni situation, including the mediation efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to revive the peace process and launch an inclusive political process guided by the UN.

He highlighted the complexities facing the ongoing good offices aiming to make peace, blaming Iran-backed Houthi militias for creating these complexities.

The President also pointed out to the Yemeni people's humanitarian suffering that has been increasingly growing due to the militias' terrorist attacks on oil facilities, commercial ships and international shipping lanes.

He said" The fair peace is that is based on the well-known terms of the peace references that are agreed on nationally, regionally and internationally, mainly the UNSCR 2216.

This desirable peace has always been in the best interest of the Yemeni people on the path to restore the state's institutions that are the guarantors of the rights, freedoms, justice and equal citizenship, which will make Yemen more secure, more stable and active at regional and international level".

HE added" Restoring the state's institutions is the utmost priority for the PLC and the government and it’s the ultimate goal of any sustainable peace effort, that must mean a wide-range partnership without discrimination or exclusion, to establish a more bright future for all Yemenis".
