MASAM Project of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Cetner (KSRelief) stated that during the fourth week of March 2024, it cleared 513 landmines in various areas of Yemen.
These included one anti-personnel mine, 86 anti-tank mines, 420 unexploded ordnance, and six explosive devices.
The project cleared 44 anti-tank mines, 44 unexploded ordnance, and two explosive devices in Aden. In the Khokha district of Hodeida Province, it cleared one anti-personnel mine, 49 unexploded ordnance, and two explosive devices.
In the al-Rayyan district of Al-Jawf, the MASAM's team removed 42 anti-tank mines, 92 unexploded ordnance, and two explosive devices. In the al-Wadi district of Marib, they cleared 201 unexploded ordnances, and in the Usailan District of Shabwa, they cleared 34 unexploded ordnances.
During the month of March, the project cleared a total of 2,374 landmines, bringing the total number of cleared mines since the beginning of the MASAM project to 436,376.
These mines were randomly planted in various Yemeni territories, leaving more innocent victims, including children, women, and the elderly.
