Water and environment minister, FAO Office director discuss Rubymar sinking aftermath and livelihoods project

Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq al-Sharjabi and the Director of the FAO office in Aden Dr. Walid Saleh discussed coordinating efforts to tackle the problem of the sinking Rubymar freighter and the measures for implementing $17,503,000-livelihood projects in the national sanctuaries of Socotra, Hawf, and Otma.

Al-Sharjabi highlighted the need to help the government overcome the environmental catastrophic threats resulting from the sunk ship and the risks of pollution and the havoc it will wreak on marine wealth in the Yemeni waters.
