State Minister, the Governor of Aden Ahmad Lamlas discussed Wednesday with Deputy Secretery General of the United Nations for Security Affairs Gilles Michaud procedures associated with security and safety for protecting international and UN organizations in Aden.
The meeting touched upon several topics related to coordination and arrangements between the two parties, including training, qualifying and exchanging experiences to accomplish tangible results on the ground.
Minister Lamlas confirmed keenness of the local authority on taking security measures to protect organizations and workers in humanitarian domain and facilitating their tasks, as well as coordinating with them in preparing local plans to ensure achieving outmost benefit of support provided by donors.
For his part, the UN official highlighted significance of discussing priorities of the local authority and discussing mechanisms of protecting and facilitating works of international organizations working in Aden.
