PM: More effective mechanisms are needed to handle humanitarian situation

Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak stressed that it is very important for the UN's agencies to adopt more effective and sustainable mechanisms when it comes to deal with humanitarian and developmental situation.

His remark came during his conversations today, Tuesday, in the transitional capital Aden with the Director of Operations and Advocacy at the Office of the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs Edim Wsorno and her accompanying delegation who are on a visit to Aden.

Bin Mubarak noted that the Yemeni government is waiting for a response by the UN to the government's demands to transfer the allotted amounts for the humanitarian response through the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden and to reconsider the map of distributing the humanitarian aids and to respond to the needs of the IDPs who fled Houthi militias-controlled regions to the government-held regions.

The UN's official stated that she is going to concentrate on the developmental aspect per the Yemeni government's request.
