Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed al-Zaouri, discussed the National Plan for child protection and the comprehensive report on child protection with the Child Protection team from UNICEF, headed by Amira Abdulaziz, and the accompanying delegation.
Al-Zaouri emphasized the importance of having information to ensure the completion of the national plan in order to achieve the desired goals of providing better protection and services for children.
The plan is built on the efforts of partners in the ministries concerned with child protection and the executive offices in the provinces, under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, he said.
The plan has been made within a unified framework and a shared vision to develop a clear and accurate future plan that meets the needs of children and helps them obtain adequate protection and their rights to education, health, and community participation, he added.
The UNICEF advisor confirmed the organization's continued support and protection for children, commending the support it receives from the ministry.
She pointed out that UNICEF is working to mobilize support from funders for the plan, considering it a general reference for everyone, with the participation of ministries and local authorities under the auspices and supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.
