Minister of Industry and Trade Mohammed Al-Ashwal participated today in a session on fisheries subsidies agreement in the thirteenth WTO ministerial conference MC 13in the Emirati capital.
The WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies, adopted at the 12th Ministerial Conference (MC12) on 17 June 2022, is a key step forward for ocean sustainability by prohibiting harmful fisheries subsidies, which contribute to the widespread depletion of the world’s fish stocks
MC 13 is supposed to come up with recommendations for additional provisions to further enhance the Agreement's disciplines.
