Minister of Interior Brigadier General Ibrahim Haidan participated Monday in the 41st Session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council held in the Republic of Tunisia, with the participation of Arab interior ministers and high-level security delegations.

Minister Haidan emphasized in his speech the importance of the session in enhancing joint Arab security, appreciating the honorable Arab positions that support and stand by Yemen, expressing his aspiration to continue supporting the rehabilitation of the human cadres in the Ministry of Interior.

The Minister of Interior reviewed the serious events and successive challenges witnessed by the region, as well as the entire world, especially the Arab region.

These include the Israeli aggression on Gaza, which resulted in thousands of martyrs and wounded, mostly women and children, as well as the escalating threats in the Red Sea due to the terrorist acts of the Houthi militia, such as piracy, kidnapping, and targeting of ships.

He pointed out that all of this requires more caution, risk awareness, and the implementation of solutions that weaken these terrorist entities.
Minister of Interior also highlighted the destructive acts by the terrorist militias in Yemen, which led to the nearly complete destruction of the security institution and necessitates its reconstruction anew.

He affirmed Yemen's welcome of the decision of the United States to classify the Houthis as a globally recognized terrorist militia and the Arab Interior Ministers Council's swift inclusion of the Houthis in the list of terrorist entities two years ago.

Brigadier General Haidan called on the international community in general and the Arab community in particular to reject the behavior of the terrorist militias in the Red Sea and to take decisive and urgent measures against them before the economic repercussions of the conflict in the Red Sea turn into a famine that threatens the Yemeni people and other impoverished populations.

The Council discussed the eleventh Arab Security Plan, the Ninth Arab Media Plan for security awareness and crime prevention, and the project of the eighth interim plan for the Arab traffic safety strategy.
