Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq al-Sharjabi discussed Monday the partnership between the ministry and the UNICEF Representative in Yemen Peter Hawkins.
The two parties discussed the plans and activities of the organization for 2024 and the difficulties facing implementation of its projects.
Minister of Water and Environment reviewed the needs of the executive units and the entities affiliated with the ministry and the support for water and sanitation projects in the joint action plan for the years 2023-2024.
He emphasized the importance of the organization's continued support for the ministry and its technical arms in meeting the needs and requirements of citizens for water and sanitation services, as well as interventions in the field of environmental sanitation.
For his part, the UNICEF Resident Representative in Yemen praised the cooperation between the two parties and the efforts made by the ministry in providing services and water and sanitation projects for citizens in various provinces.
In a related context, the Minister of Water and Environment, accompanied by the UNICEF Resident Representative, inspected the implementation of an additional water supply line project for the District of Sirah, and parts of the district of Khour Maksar, with a length of three kilometers at a cost of USD 850,000.
