The King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center signed a cooperation agreement with the International Association for the Care of War Victims and Disasters to operate the Artificial Limbs Center in Marib province with the value of USD 1,38 million.
Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs at the Center Engineer Ahmed Al-Bayez and the Executive Director of the Association Dr. Mu'awiya Harsawani represented the two parties in signing the agreement.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Muallem Director of the Health and Environmental Aid Department at the Center stated in a press statement that the agreement includes providing physical rehabilitation services for people with special needs, as well as their follow-up and utilization in serving the community.
The agreement also includes diagnosing and determining individual treatment plans for each patient, installing various types of prosthetics, providing rehabilitation services for prosthetic limbs, continuous follow-up, enhancing the professional and scientific capabilities of the medical and technical staff, and preparing them to deal with specific cases.
Additionally, it aims to reduce the emigration of specialized medical and technical personnel. The project is expected to benefit 4,854 individuals.
This agreement is part of a series of humanitarian and relief projects implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center, to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people over the humanitarian crisis in the country.
