MARIB - SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and governor of Marib Sultan al-Arada along with the Chief of Staff Lt Gen. Sagheer bin Aziz announced today the unilateral opening of the road linking Marib to Sana’a via Nihm outskirt.
During an inspection of the Marib-Sana'a asphalt road on the government-held frontline part, al-Arada inaugurated a security
checkpoint for routine reception and checking of passengers on the frontal part of the road under government forces' control.
The move, which marks an opening of the road on Marib's part, came after consultation between the governor and the political and military leadership and governor al-Arada expressed hopes the other party (Houthi militants) will take a similar step to facilitate the movement of passengers.
“I hope everyone will cooperate in opening all the main roads in all Yemeni cities for the benefit of the Yemeni people, and all other issues have their own space [of discussion and tackling] including the issue of peace and war,” al-Arada said as he formally opened the road on Marib's end.
A trending issue on social media is road connections between Yemeni cities and hashtags are persistently appealing "open the roads."
