Al-Soqatri seeks further Russian cooperation with Yemen

Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fishery Salim al-Soqatri highlighted Yemen's need for more support from the Friendly Russian Federation in the area of agriculture and fishery.
Yemeni-Russian bilateral cooperation was key focus of the discussions between al-Soqatri and the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Kinschak and the Chargé d' Affairs at the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Yemen.
Al-Soqatri cited the challenges Yemen has been struggling with in the agricultural and fishery sectors that further exacerbated by the long-standing conflict in the country and the climate changes.
The Russian diplomat stated that the Russian Federation is keenly seeking to promote partnership and cooperation with the Republic of Yemen to serve the mutual interests of the two countries.
He also noted that his government can help Yemen to build the infrastructure in the two sectors of fishery and agriculture.
