The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC( held a meeting today, Sunday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, with the attendance of its members Sultan al-Arada, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, and via video call Abdul-Rahman al-Mahrami and Othman Majli, while Aidaroos al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh and Faraj al-Bahsni were absent with an excuse.

General Tareq Saleh, UN envoy discuss peace process, situation in Red Sea

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) General Tareq Saleh received Sunday UN Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg.

The UN envoy briefed General Tareq on the nature of his recent tour in the region and its results on the bases of efforts of Saudi Arabia and Sultanate of Oman to commence an inclusive political process under the UN sponsorship.

Member of the PLC stressed importance of an active and decisive role to be played by the UN in facing Houthi militia's major violations and working on lifting siege on Taiz City, allowing humanitarian assistances enter to the needy people and ending obstacles imposed by the militia on the transportation of the citizens.

For his part, the UN envoy expressed concern over escalation in the Red Sea, confirming that this escalation does not serve the interests of Yemen.
He confirmed continuous UN efforts to realize peace, in consultation with all parties, to protect what has been achieved in the roadmap for peace until the moment.
