Member of Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Brigadier General Tariq Saleh discussed today, Monday, with the Charged' Affairs of the Chinese embassy in the Republic of Yemen Chu Ch'ing the prospects for peace in view of the UN-led efforts and the ongoing tensions in the Red Sea due to the terrorist Houthi militias' attacks on the commercial ships.
Brig. Saleh stressed that it is very important for the international community to realize the lethal risks of the Houthis' reckless practices in the Red Sea before it is too late. He pointed out to the perilous security and economic implications upon Yemen and the entire world of the Houthi militias' threats to the international shipping lanes, on top of all the great industrial countries which use the Red Sea as the maritime shipping lane.
The Chinese diplomat has confirmed China's support for the UN-led efforts to make peace in Yemen, noting that Beijing does not want any escalation that touches the freedom and security of the international navigation.
