Major General Al-Zubaidi: Protecting navigation in Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab is the responsibility of the whole world
[17/01/2024 02:15]
DAVOS – SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Major General Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi said, “Today, confronting the Houthi escalation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab has become an international mission, as this waterway represents great importance not only to Yemen, but to the countries of the entire world, as a large percentage of the world’s imports (of food, fuel and medicine) pass through it".

Al-Zubaidi added in the panel discussion entitled (The Middle East Conflict: What is the Endgame?), held within the discussion activities at the World Economic Forum hosted by the Davos Resort in Switzerland, “The conflict in the region will continue as long as there are no deterrent measures against the Houthi threats.”

He pointed out that the survival of these militias means that this part of the world remains a conflict zone.During the panel discussion, Major General Al-Zubaidi touched on the developments our country is witnessing, most notably the Houthi escalation against international shipping lines in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab... stressing that the Houthi attacks have doubled and will double the living suffering of citizens, and the country's economic difficulties, especially since our country depends almost entirely on imports that arrive by sea via means of transport rented from international companies.

He indicated that the Houthi militias are trying to cover up their crimes and inhuman practices against the Yemeni people, by claiming to support the Palestinian people and the population in the Gaza Strip.
