Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhayb and the Deputy Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Yemen, Saeed Hirsi, discussed here today joint coordination mechanism in evaluating the roles and responsibilities between the ministry and international organizations.
The meeting touched on several topics related to activating the work of the Ministry’s single window, strengthening joint efforts in the process of evaluation and oversight of projects implemented between the two sides, and the ongoing arrangements to hold a workshop on humanitarian response between government agencies and OCHA with the aim of presenting the outcomes of previous interventions and activities and the needs for plans and projects for the year 2024 AD.
The Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation stressed the Ministry’s keenness to improve the environment for coordinating joint work with all international organizations and bodies within the framework of the single window, which contributes to achieving the highest rates of quality and sharing of information with flexibility in facilitating procedures to serve the Ministry’s customers.
In turn, the Deputy Director of the OCHA, explained the interest in improving performance, unifying coordination with the government and its national sectors, and working as a joint team in implementing the humanitarian response plan for the year 2024.
