Japan provides USD 19 million new assistances to Yemen

The government of Japan has decided providing new assistance to Yemen worth USD 19 million as a response for urgent humanitarian needs resulting from the eight-year conflict in the country.
The new backage of assistances will be allocated to sectors of education, health, food, protecting women and children and for the displaced people in cooperation with international organizations.
The government also decided providing Yemen with other USD three million assistances to encourage peace and humanitarian response in Yemen.

"Two million USD will be used in supporting peace, an initiative led by UN Envoy's office in Yemen aiming at realizing political process ending the war," said a state release to Japanese government.
The rest fud will be allocated to support mechanism of the United Nations to investigate and monitor process managed by the UN Office for Project Services, which helps in facilitating influx of commercial goods to Yemen.
