Planning minister, French Ambassador discuss support for national sectors

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Waed Badhib and the French Ambassador to Yemen Catherine Corm-Kammoun discussed here today aspects of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries and the development and humanitarian support provided by the French side, which covers several sectors and fields.
The meetingtouched on the general situation in the country, as well as French interventions in the agricultural field, represented by the Wadi Hajar project in Hadramaut governorate, and support for the fishing project in Aden and Hadramaut governorates, women’s empowerment programs, and peace-building efforts.
The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation affirmed the ministry’s keenness to coordinate with a number of sectors, the most important of which are the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and local authorities, to enhance the continuity, stability and sustainability of food security, pointing to the importance of grain cultivation at the present time, especially since 70 percent of the Yemeni people work in agriculture, in addition to interest in the fishery field, is considered one of the promising fields that will provide an export capacity that contributes to the economic recovery process.
