Today the Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, launched a workshop organized by the Ministry of Water and Environment in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Yemen (FAO) on the effects of climate change on food and water security.

At the opening of the workshop, which was held on the sidelines of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) held in Dubai, Minister Al-Sharjabi reviewed the humanitarian crises that Yemen is going through as a result of the lack of food security resulting from the effects of severe climate changes... pointing out that Yemen is one of the countries most vulnerable to the effects of climate change in the world, which creates many challenges in vital sectors.

Al-Sharjabi pointed to the successive droughts that Yemen has witnessed for many years, and the catastrophic effects of torrents and floods in recent years and the high temperatures, which caused major damage to the environment, infrastructure and livelihoods.
