Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq Asharjabi joined today, Sunday, the first high-profile meeting on a just transition in the climate field within the sessions of the UNCOP28 Conference held in the United Arab Emirates.
He stated that the Republic of Yemen is working with countries around the world to confront the repercussions of climate change, underscoring the importance of finding comprehensive solutions to the climate crisis that include everyone, given that the just transition is part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Climate Agreement.
The Minister noted that Yemen seeks to integrate the ability to adapt to climate change into development plans which requires large investments in infrastructure, technology transfer.th, training, rehabilitation and institutional building
He added that a just transition needs financing, investment and the introduction of real reforms in the global financial system to ensure equal Opportunities in financing between countries of the world.
