Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen Ahmad Ghaleb received here Ambassadors of the European Union headed by the Head of the European Commission in Yemen Gabriel Munera.
In the meeting, Governor Ghaleb briefed ambassadors of France, Germany and Netherlands and Deputy Ambassador of the European Union for Economic Affairs on the latest developments in economic and financial situations under the crisis in the country over halting oil and gas exports and losing big resources of customs and taxes amid meeting increasing living and service needs of citizens.
The governor touched upon reforms are being implemented by the Central Bank of Yemen with support from brothers, friends and international organizations and challenges and difficulties faced by the bank as a result of scarcity of internal resources and increasing commitments.
He pointed out to the importance of the support provided by the European Union to our country in field of technical support and capacity building and the EU continued follow up to situations in Yemen.
For their part, the EU ambassadors confirmed their continuous support to the Central Bank to enable it perform its vital tasks in serving Yemeni economy and citizens independently.
