The Board of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) held session today, Sunday, in the temporary capital Aden to review its country document of Yemen for 2023-2024.
The meeting included UNDP's Resident Representative in Yemen Zena Ali, the representatives of the concerned ministries, some foreign ambassadors who engaged in the deliberations via the video conference including the Head of the EU Mission, Dutch Ambassador, Korean Ambassador, Charge'd Affairs of the US embassy and a number of the international organizations and donors representatives.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Wa'id Badhib led the discussions about the document which covered the UNDP's projects in 2023, the expected outcomes, the assessment and the planned projects set to be carried out in 2024.
Dr. Badhib stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and consultations between the Yemeni government and the UNDP to set out the pressing needs and top priorities as well as to balancing between humanitarian and development projects and interventions.
For her part, Ali cited the UNDP's projects in 2023, noting that the UN's efforts will be gradually shifted from humanitarian to development.
