FM, EU missions discuss latest developments in the Yemeni situation

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, held a meeting with the heads of the European Union missions accredited to Yemen to discuss important issues on the Yemeni scene and developments on the regional arena.

The meeting discussed developments in the mediation led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a ceasefire, ending the war, and resuming a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the United Nations.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs reviewed the latest developments in the economic and humanitarian situation in Yemen and the role of international organizations and the donor community to reconsider relief work in Yemen and move to the stage of development support and sustainability projects, stressing the importance of strengthening state institutions to bear their responsibility in facing economic challenges and the necessity of transferring economic aid and grants through the Central Bank in Aden. This contributes to enhancing the value of the national currency.

The meeting also discussed developments in occupied Palestine, the repercussions of the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and attacks in the West Bank, and the need for international community pressure on Israel to end the war, allow aid to enter, and launch peace talks that will end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
