Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Major General Aidarous al-Zubaidi affirmed that the PLC with its different political constituencies is ready to move forward on the peace process to end the war in the country.
As he met today, Thursday, with the American Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin he noted that the PLC is going to keep on responding constructively to the various regional and international efforts to establish peace, at the meantime the PLC does reserve all options to counter the Houthi militias' intransigence.
Maj. General al-Zubaid reaffirmed that Houthi militias don't believe in peace, don't have intention to join a genuine political process with the other parties to the conflict, it is rather gambling to have more time to continue its war aiming to achieve Iran's agenda in the region.
The PLC's Member reiterated his assertion that the peace process success in Yemen is contingent on adopting a political process discusses the fundamental issues of the conflict in the country first and foremost is the south issue. He stressed on the importance of the strength and coherence of the anti-Houthi militia national front and the seriousness of the international community to establish permanent peace in the region.
Maj. General al-Zubaid underscored the importance of the regional and international support for the PLC and its efforts to revitalize the economy and improve living conditions in the government-held regions.
He highly appreciated the American administration's support for the PLC and the government in different fields.
The American Ambassador reiterated his government's support for the regional and international efforts to end the war, establish peace in Yemen.
Mr. Fagin also renewed Washington's support for the PLC and the government's efforts to manage the economic hardships.
