Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Waed Batheeb participated Saturday here in the Meeting of Arab Governors, which was held on the sidelines of the meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
During the meeting, aspects of World Bank's support to Arab Region in line with developmental needs in the region were discussed.
Planning Minister reviewed huge challenges facing Yemen and the Arab Region over poverty, unemployment and conflicts, pointing out to roles of youth and significance of contribution in providing stability and economic chances to them.
Batheeb renewed call to the World Bank for transferring its operations in Yemen from emergency into long-term development, confirming importance of grants instead of loans in this period.
