Assistant Deputy Minister of Planning for the International Cooperation Sector, Mansour Zayd, discussed here today with the international expert in the field of water, environmental sanitation and climate change at UNICEF, Mark Anderson, the level of implementation of a number of the organization’s projects in the fields of childhood, education and health.
Zaid stressed the government’s keenness, in cooperation and coordination with international organizations, including UNICEF, to protect children from disasters and environmental risks and provide them with clean water... stressing the need to pay attention to child protection in the organizations’ interventions and projects.
For his part, the international expert at UNICEF reviewed the organization’s interventions in the field of children and their protection, stressing the keenness to understand the comments submitted by the Ministry of Planning in this regard.
The Assistant Deputy Minister also met with a team of evaluation experts from the United Nations Development Programme.
Zayd was briefed on the plan of the UN team currently visiting the country, which includes visiting a group of official agencies in a number of governorates, to identify the level of implementation of projects affiliated with the United Nations Development Programme.
