A team from the National Enquiry Commission into the Allegations of Human Rights Violations carried out a field visit to residential neighborhoods in the districts of Qahira and Salah in Taiz Governorate to survey the damage of the bombardment they ensured in the last days of September and October 2023 AD, which led to the injury of a number of civilians, damage to homes, terror and panic to civilians, and the prevention of civilians from movement.

The team, headed by commission member Judge Ishraq Al-Maqtari, was briefed on the effects of destruction and direct damage to buildings, rooftops, windows, and the remains of projectiles.

The team heard from the residents of the neighborhoods of Al-Kamb, Al-Dawa, the College of Medicine neighborhood, Al-Shammasi, and Al-Zahraa to give their testimony regarding the context of the recent bombing, the times during which it took place, and its causes despite the cessation of military operations, and the distance separating residential neighborhoods from security and military points, and the impact of this on the safety and security of citizens, especially since most of them are poor who were unable to leave their homes and move to other areas due to economic conditions.
