Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik received, at his residence in the Qatari capital, Doha, today, Monday, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil of Kuwait, Dr. Saad Al-Barrak, and discussed with him the distinguished bilateral cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries and the common interest in continuing to strengthen and develop them.

The meeting went over the current and future Kuwaiti support for Yemen in a number of vital areas, in addition to the latest developments in the situation on the Yemeni arena in various aspects.

The prime minister praised the fraternal roles of the Kuwaiti leadership, government and people towards Yemen and its people over the past decades, the effective impact of its projects in vital sectors, its generous support, and firm position in supporting the Yemeni government.

The Prime Minister pointed out that schools, hospitals, universities, shelter camps, water projects, agriculture and many others speak of examples of the great evidence that has immortalized Kuwait in the memories and hearts of Yemenis... praising the Kuwaiti efforts to bring peace to Yemen, and hosting one of the longest and most profound rounds of government-Houthi negotiations that were close to producing a deal had it not been for the stubbornness of the terrorist Houthi militia.

In turn, the Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister stressed Kuwait's position in support of the government, the Leadership Council, and the Yemeni people, and its keenness to stabilize the situation, end the war, and achieve peace.
