Governor of Lahj, Ahmed Turki, discussed with the Deputy Resident Representative in Yemen for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) the mechanism for enhancing cooperation between the governorate and the organization in the field of protecting children’s rights and improving the developmental level of health, education, and water projects implemented by the organization in Lahj.
During the meeting, the governor praised the humanitarian and service interventions provided by UNICEF in development fields, stressing the governorate’s need for more support from the organization and the importance of expanding the geographical area of its interventions to reach all the governorate’s districts. For his part, the UN official said that UNICEF is working to establish sustainable projects in the education, health and water sectors, in addition to its other emergency interventions.
