Al-Sharjabi discusses with UN official water cooperation

Minister of Water and Environment Engineer Tawfeeq al-Sharjabi discussed Monday with Deputy Representative of the UNDP in Yemen Nadia al-Awamelah enhancing mutual cooperation and mechanisms of planning and implementing projects in field of water and environment.
The meeting discussed plans and programs of the ministry of water and environment in a number of the country's provinces and current and future projects, as well as supporting government efforts to adapt with environmental changes.
Minister al-Sharjabi confirmed significant continuous support to the public corporations, especially water corporation to help it find suitable solutions to cover population's needs of clean and secure water.
The meeting discussed current preparations for Yemen's participation in the UN summit for global changes (COP 28) to be held in Dubai on November and mechanisms of coordination and joint work during the summit's activities.
For her part, the UN official praised the role played by the ministry of water and environment to realize recovery in water sector, confirming significance of continuous coordination between the ministry and the UNDP for continuous implementation of projects.
