New York - Saba
Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, participated in the forty-seventh annual meeting of the foreign ministers of member states of the Group of 77 and China.
Minister Bin Mubarak stressed, in the statement he delivered at the meeting, that Yemen not only complains of an inability to achieve the sustainable development goals, but also suffers from a complex humanitarian and economic crisis, the severity of which has increased in recent years due to the economic war waged by the Houthi militia, as the Yemeni riyal has lost more than three quarters of its value against the dollar since the beginning of the war eight years ago, which led to a huge rise in prices amid the inability of many Yemenis to buy most basic goods and the fall of large segments of the population into poverty and hunger.
He pointed out that the Group of 77 and China must take the initiative in promoting the systemic and structural changes necessary to revive sustainable global growth and achieve equality in international economic relations to reach sustainable development goals and environmental goals.
