National Commission to investigate alleged rights abuses reviews its eleventh report at UN Palace in Geneva

The National Commission to Investigate Allegations of Human Rights Violations reviewed its eleventh periodic report in a seminar at the United Nations Palace in Geneva today, on the sidelines of the 54th session of the Human Rights Council.

In the seminar that brought together 28 representatives of US diplomatic missions, a number of European Union countries, Arab and African countries in Geneva, and 16 representatives of UN agencies, international and local non-governmental organizations, and media, the commission discussed its most important task and the results of field investigations, monitoring, documentation, and field visits to gather information.

At the seminar, the head of the Commission, Judge Ahmed Al-Muflhi, explained the committee’s mechanism of work, its mandate, its reporting methodology, and the violations it investigated, indicating that the current report is complementary to previous periodic reports and an integral part of them, especially with regard to the statement of the mandate, the legal framework, methodology, and work methods.
