Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, discussed today in New York with his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them, and coordinate the positions of the two countries on issues of common interest.
Bin Mubarak briefed his Algerian counterpart on the latest developments in regional and international efforts to achieve peace in Yemen, the pressures required to push the Houthi militias to deal seriously with those efforts, and ways to support the government’s economic reforms as an ideal option to enhance the chances of peace and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
For his part, the Algerian Foreign Minister stressed the strength and depth of Yemeni-Algerian relations and renewed Algeria’s support for the Yemeni government in all forums, hoping that regional and international efforts will result in a comprehensive political settlement that will restore security and stability to Yemen and decent life to the Yemeni people.
