FM briefs OIC ministerial meeting on Yemen latest developments
[21/09/2023 10:05]
New York – Saba
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, briefed the ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, on the latest developments in the Yemeni issue, as it is one of the organization’s political files.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs said, "It is unfortunate to say that all international efforts and regional endeavors, since the end of the truce last October, have been met with intransigence and rejection by the Houthi militias, with which millions of Yemenis continue to suffer.

However, the Yemeni government has adhered to all of its provisions in order to alleviate the suffering of the Yemenis and in the hope that the militias will return to the right path." He added, "The Houthi militias have doubled the suffering of the Yemenis and the economic crisis by targeting oil installations and preventing the export of oil, which, despite its limitations, represents a major source for the government to provide the minimum services and pay employee salaries."
