Maj. General al-Zubaidi meets with US Envoy to Yemen

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Maj. General Aidarou al-Zubaid met today, Saturday evening, with American Envoy to Yemen Timothy Lenderking.

The meeting aimed to discuss the regional and UN-led efforts to end the war, establish peace in our country and the proposed proposals to the solution. In this regard al-Zubaidi reiterated the Presidential Leadership Council's support to the regional and international efforts, stressing that it is very important to reach a comprehensive cease-fire, and unconditionally engage in an inclusive political process.

The discussions touched upon the political and humanitarian situations in our country amid Houthi militias' continuous military escalations in the different flashpoints. In this context, Mag. General al-Zubaid stated that the Houthi militias have exploited the truce to mobilize its militants to the fronts, enhanced its control over the resources in the militia-controlled regions to boost its warfare efforts.

He noted that the Presidential Leadership Council has made significant concessions in order to boost the peace prospects chances to reach a permanent peace, while the Houthi militias have continued to act intransigently, rejecting all efforts aiming to end the conflict, make peace in the region.

The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council highly appreciated the American role in sustaining the Presidential Leadership Council's efforts to do its jobs. He confirmed the keenness on the unity and coherence of the Council to lead the upcoming political process.

The American envoy renewed his administration's supportive stance in support of the efforts to end the war in our country, initiate an inclusive political process.
Mr. Lenderking also reiterated his support to the unity and coherence of the Presidential Leadership Council to carry out its responsibilities.
