Cairo - Saba
Yemen represented by its Minister of Industry and Trade Muhammad Al-Ashwal chaired the meeting of the Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level, held at the Arab League in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
At the meeting, which was attended by the Arab ministers of industry, trade and economy, Al-Ashwal said, "The meeting comes in exceptional circumstances similar to the previous one, except that its episodes are getting more complicated as countries are about to recover from their internal challenges, as international changes come from an epidemic, wars close to food sources, and a conflict that affects the economic stability of our countries that It suffers from great difficulties with the high prices of food and medicine, so let us share with the world the effects of climate change, which wash away any effort made by our governments, so drought will settle and ruin urbanization.”
Al-Ashwal pointed out that what many Arab countries are witnessing, especially the Republic of Sudan, calls for intensifying efforts to bring about peace, citing the case of Yemen, in which the Houthi militia is starving the Yemeni people by striking oil export platforms to deprive the country of revenues.
