Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, discussed with the Acting Dutch Ambassador to Yemen, Marieke Wierda, and the Water and Environmental Sanitation Officer, Jan Peter, mechanisms to enhance aspects of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries in the water and sanitation sector.

He reviewed the meeting, which was held via visual communication technology; Executive plans and procedures for the first phase of the project to rehabilitate the tanks of the central water pumping station in Aden Governorate, and the urgent measures to maintain the continuity of water pumping to the districts of Crater, Al-Mualla, Al-Tawahi and Khormaksar.

Minister Al-Sharjabi praised the Dutch interventions in the water and environment sectors in Yemen, pointing out that the priorities of the Ministry of Water's work include restoring and improving the quality of services in the water and sanitation sector, restoring institutional structures and building the capacities of institutions, and re-adjusting procedures related to legalizing the exploitation of natural resources and stopping the resulting environmental degradation.
