Member of Presidential Leadership Council Abdurrahman al-Mahrami held discussions today, Wednesday, with the American Ambassador the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.

The conversations covered topics relating to the developments about the Yemeni situation, regional and international good offices to revive peace process and the prospects for renewing the truce amid Houthi militias' intransigence and insistence on further worsening the humanitarian suffering.

Al-Mahrami reiterated the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council to make peace and offer the peaceful solution. He stated that to this end the legitimate government has agreed to renew the UN-brokered truce as a step toward stopping the war, establish peace to save Yemen and the Yemeni people more destruction.

He noted that Houthi militias went far by targeting oil facilities the only single source for the government's revenues in order to prevent the whole Yemeni peoples from their salaries and developmental and services process.

The Member of the Presidential Council said" The status quo of no peace, no war is unacceptable, we won't let this to continue, we've options will be tough for Houthi militias".

He stressed that it is very important for the international community to mount pressure upon Iran-backed Houthi militias to abandon weapons, engage in peace process, stop destabilizing security and stability in the region, international security and peace.

Al-Mahrami praised the Yemeni-American bilateral relations, highly appreciating the American's unlimited support for Yemen in different fields, highlighting the need for more support, particularly in training the Yemeni security personnel in fighting terrorism.

The American Ambassador confirmed his administration's support for the Presidential Leadership Council to achieve permanent peace in Yemen, end the war.
