French Support for Aden Development Discussed in Meeting with Governor

Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh, met Tuesday with the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Corm-Kammoun, to review cooperation between the local authority and France in humanitarian and development fields.

Talks centered on French-backed projects currently underway in Aden, including those completed during the first half of the year, as well as planned initiatives to be launched in the coming months across several public service sectors.

Governor Sheikh said the local administration is seeking to broaden cooperation with international and regional donors to improve service delivery and strengthen administrative performance.

He noted that recent reforms in revenue collection, particularly through an integrated digital linking system for public revenue institutions, have produced positive results in enhancing local income.

He also voiced hope for expanded international assistance to help the city advance development programs and reinforce security and stability.

Ambassador Corm-Kammoun, in turn, praised the progress made by Aden’s local authority in improving public services and supporting stability, stressing France’s intention to maintain its support for development initiatives that benefit the city and its residents
