Governor of Socotra Discusses Support for Health Sector with UNFPA

The Governor of Socotra Archipelago, Engineer Raafat al-Thiqali discussed thursday with UNFPA Representative in Yemen Francesco Galietti and the Fund’s International Operations Director in Yemen Yerkazan Tabildiyeva the state of health sector in the governorate and its essential needs.

The meeting, attended by the Director of the Public Health and Population Office in the governorate, Dr. Issa al-Shanqabi, addressed the challenges facing health services, the need for support, and the assistance being provided—particularly in the area of reproductive health.

Governor al-Thiqali highlighted the health sector’s need in Socotra for support from international organizations to improve the healthcare services provided to citizens across the district.
