Aden Governor discusses enhancing development, service cooperation with Dutch Ambassador

Minister of State, the Governor of Aden Governorate Abdulrahman Sheikh, discussed Wednesday with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Yemen Jeannette Seppen ways to strengthen cooperation and support development and service efforts in the temporary capital of Aden.

During the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Governor Eng. Ghassan al-Zamaki and Director of the Women’s Department at the governorate’s general office Ishtiaq Saad, the governor reviewed the general situation in Aden and the challenges facing the local authority across various sectors.

He emphasized the leadership’s commitment to expanding partnerships with international organizations to improve services and enhance stability.
Governor Sheikh praised the support provided by the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Aden, particularly in the water sector, through projects aimed at improving the efficiency of the water system and enhancing the sustainability of water resources, which positively impacts citizens’ lives and alleviates their suffering.

The meeting also discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, foremost among them supporting infrastructure projects, improving basic services, enhancing sustainable development programs and building institutional capacities to meet citizens’ needs and contribute to recovery and stability.

For her part, the Dutch ambassador affirmed her government’s commitment to supporting humanitarian and development efforts in Yemen.

She commended the level of cooperation with the local authority in Aden and expressed readiness to strengthen partnerships and expand support in priority sectors to help improve living conditions for the population.
