Al-Muharrami discusses latest Developments, Counterterrorism Efforts with US Ambassador

RIYADH – SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Abdulrahman Al-Muharrami met on Tuesday with the United States Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin.

He discussed with him recent developments on the national scene and ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.

The meeting reviewed ongoing efforts to support stability in Yemen, enhance coordination with regional and international partners and support the government in carrying out its duties.

It also addressed unifying efforts to confront challenges led by threats posed by the Houthi terrorist militias and strengthening joint counterterrorism efforts.

The discussion also covered initiatives aimed at improving economic and service conditions, alleviating citizens’ suffering and efforts related to preparing the ground for intra-southern dialogue.

The importance of supporting pathways that contribute to de-escalation and stability was emphasized, in a way that enhances prospects for reaching sustainable solutions.

Al-Muharrami stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations with the United States and remaining open to various initiatives that could advance the stabilization process.

He praised the role played by the United States in supporting the government and backing efforts to achieve security, stability and combat terrorism.

For his part, the US Ambassador reaffirmed his country’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, emphasizing Washington’s commitment to continuing its support for efforts aimed at achieving security and stability, strengthening partnership with Yemen to face challenges and supporting economic and humanitarian efforts.
