The Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Maj. General Ahmed al-Basr met today, Monday, in the temporary capital Aden, with Human Rights and International Law expert Patricia Pinto and weapons expert Brik Betla.

They discussed a range of topics related to child recruitment and the violations committed by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias against civilians.

The discussions focused on the efforts made and measures taken to protect children and prevent their exploitation in armed conflicts, in accordance with national laws and relevant international charters.

General al-Basr confirmed the armed forces' commitment to implementing national laws and the principles of international humanitarian law, namely the Law on the Prevention of Child Recruitment issued in 1990, to protect childhood and end all forms of exploitation and violations against it.
