The Republic of Yemen participated today, Thursday, in the discussions of the Second Conference of Transport and Communications Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries, held in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Deputy Minister of Transport Nasser Sharif contributed to the gathering deliberations.

He highlighted the great deal of damages inflicted on the infrastructure in the sectors of roads, bridges, airports and ports by the Houthi terrorist militias since their coup against the state.

Sharif cited the threats targeting international navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden that have badly affected the safety of navigation and trade regionally and internationally, leading to higher insurance costs for ships heading to Yemeni ports.
