The formation of Yemen’s new government, headed by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zindani, has been met with broad welcome from the United Nations and the international community, reflecting high expectations for the government’s role in leading the next phase.
The United Nations and a number of countries welcomed the formation of the government, describing it as an important step
toward strengthening stability, restoring state institutions, and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.
They affirmed their full support for the new government’s efforts to implement economic and service-sector reforms, advance a comprehensive and just peace process, and work with the international community to fulfill Yemenis’ aspirations for security, development, and stability.
The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, welcomed the formation of the new Yemeni government under the leadership of Dr. Zindani, stressing his support for efforts aimed at enhancing dialogue among Yemenis and reducing escalation.
